 I think I'm starting to get the hang of it, though. I've closed 500 points in a month.  Too bad I have 700 more to go...

it's the most accurate way to determine a player's "value" to his team that i could come up with using the yahoo statistics ... i'd really like to include defensive stats, but most of the major stats (fielding %, errors, etc) are just not indicative of overall defensive play, and it's kind of impossible for yahoo to use STATS Inc.'s "Zone Rating" system

1500 seems a bit excessive.  I'd split the difference and go to 1400?
 
 And 162 is fine.  I'm not sure why it went to 170; I think that was a mistake.

Thanks.  I defer all my thoughts on scoring to this previous thread.  I would also add holds.

 If we'd like to even out the categories between pitchers and hitters, I'd opt for 6x6:
 
 AVG, HR, RBI, R, BB, SB
 
 and
 
 W, K, SV, HLDS, ERA, WHIP

yes, my hockey team sucks. i keep forgetting it exists, and i'm sorry about that, because i know there's nothing worse than a lazy owner, even one at the bottom of the standings. i can assure you i'd be kicking all of your asses in fantasy basketball, which is my best fantasy sport.

I've meant to apologize to you for that for a while now.  My solid argument about Barry Bonds ruining OPS for everybody never came to fruition.
 
 Anyhow, I think I'd rather see AVG and either OPS or OBP instead of BB.  I like to reward those that get HBP too.
