I bought one for Tuesday's show last night.  I really doubt that it will sell out though so if I were you I would just get the tix when you show up.  Never really listened to the Spree so I am going to this one with open ears.  I'm really interested to see what they sound like.

i'm in for tuesday would really like to find out if the groups is amazing live as every says they are... and my kosmosense feels that this project may not be around very long.  i'll be metroing down so if they are not so great i can cut out early and not feel bad about it.

Well the show got a mention in the CityLights section of the City Paper plus an article in the Post's Weekend section and this feature article in today's Post.

I'll be there for the Tuesday show.  I really want to see the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players too.

I got an email last week demanding that I go see the show.  My mate in Austin, TX, said:

"Just got back from a Polyphonic Spree show. AMAZING. I don't know if you know much about them but it was an awesome experience to see them live."

He's a brilliant guitar player in his own right so if he says a show is amazing, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Samckette and I are looking to go on Tuesday.

I actually have a friend who's a writer in New York and he is offering me my money back if I don't like the show! He said the Slideshow Players on the bill that night make it a "don't miss" event. I'll be at the back bar before show time.

is that the "downstairs" bar? If so, why do they call it the "back" bar? What is it in back of?

I posted this in the FAQ, but alas no answer...does it look like buying tickets at the door Tuesday will be a viable option?

Unless for some strange reason it sells out its definitely a viable option.

It's called the back bar because it IS the back bar...from the original location on F St, where it really was in the back. We closed the place down for good at about 9 am on Jan 1, 1996, and Evilsatan went in a few hours later and pulled that thing out to install downstairs here. We never considered calling the downstairs anything other than the back bar. Call me sentimental, but I like parking up against the same bar I've been leaning on for the last 20 years.

you should be able to get tickets at the door to either night.

Plus a two-nighter from a relatively obscure band certainly makes it less likely to sell out.  Although I hope the shows sell well, seeing as the fact that they're tour at all seems to be a financial miracle.

i think they'll get a good turnout for both nights. they've been all over the press nationally, and a huge article in the post that was an entire page is going to boost turnout. the $10 ticket is obviously a help too.
