good analogy, actually.
 
 as for this shaved bit, i waver, sometimes it trimmed, sometimes its bare. it took me a long time to adjust to the idea of going bare as it does look odd but i quickly got over it and rather enjoy the smoothness (as do others) of it all.
 
 but to have hairs hanging out of hte side of your swimsuit is just wrong. trim 'em, wax 'em, shave 'em just a bit more. no one wants to see your loose pubes.

 I think the female shaving phenomena is a rather recent thing, and I think it may be more predominate among the younger 20something crowd. I'm 36 and always typically dated women around my own age. Never encountered a shaver until I was 30 (she was late 20's I think), and can only remember briefly dating a grand total of 2 who had the problem...

 As far as I understand it, it originated with it being illegal for pornographers to show female fur at the turn of the century in America.
 
 To circumvent the issue the models shaved. Hence all of those beautiful black and white pics of voluptuous women with their legs slightly crossed with no fur.
 
 
 I am so dissappointed by this thread, I thought it was going to be full of sex tips and details about how unhygienic women are, perhaps spiced up with a little, "we scewed in a railway carriage whilst the other travellers cheered".

Yes, but look at Playboy nudes from the 70's and 80's...none of them shaved, and most weren't even trimmed...I think the 90's brought trimming followed by the little Hitler strip followed by nothing at all. I think your everyday female is a bit slower in following what predominates in Playboy, but seemingly the under 35 crowd is trending that way now.
 
     Underarm and leg hair shaving for females didn't really start until around the 30's, when Bic started a campaign that portrayed nonshaving as unhygenic and unsightly. This coincided with the time when female fashions slowly started to become more revealing.
 
    Let me tell you, those railway seats allowed us to try a position that we had not yet tried. Worked like a charm. The curtains were shut, so nobody cheered.

    Personally, I've always preferred wild unkempt hair on females (and myself), be it on the head or elsewhere. Would explain why my sweetie most often wears her hair curly now instead of straightening it.
