« on: February 03, 2005, 04:25:00 pm »
I know this show was discussed on here a little while ago, but lately I've started videotaping it and it is *completely* blowing me away.

Here is what was on the 2 shows I have taped so far:

 1st Show:

 The Lightning Seeds: Pure
 Pete Shelley: Homosapien
Frank Black: Hang On To Your Ego
 Gene Loves Jezebel: Jealous
Depeche Mode: A Question Of Lust
The Jesus & Mary Chain: Happy When It Rains
 Talking Heads: Girlfriend Is Better
 Velvet Underground: Sweet Jane
The Clash: I Fought The Law
The Ramones: Do You Remember Rock 'N Roll Radio?
 The Jam: Strange Town
 Wall Of Voodoo: Mexican Radio
 Peter Godwin: Images Of Heaven
 The Fixx: Saved By Zero

 2nd Show:

 The Cure: Charlotte Sometimes
 James: So Many Ways
 Depeche Mode: Halo
The Lightning Seeds: All I Want
 Heaven 17: Temptation
 The Sisters Of Mercy: More
 The Stranglers: Always The Sun
The Alarm: Rain In The Summertime
 The Replacements: Bastards of Young
Ned's Atomic Dustbin: Grey Cell Green
 Elvis Costello: Radio Radio
 The Clash: Radio Clash
 R.E.M.: Radio Free Europe
 Fishbone: Modern Industry
Siouxsie & The Banshees: The Passenger
 Blur: There's No Other Way
 Violent Femmes: Gone Daddy Gone
 New Order: Blue Monday '88
 Spacemen 3: Big City
 The Sugarcubes: Birthday
 Morrissey: November Spawned A Monster
Julian Cope: World Shut Your Mouth
 Sonic Youth: 100%
 Pixies: Head On (Live)
The Church: Under The Milky Way

 Amazing!

 Cheers

Do you live in Northern Virginia, watch prime time network television, love Friends, and miss your sorority days?

don't forget the highlight of the show -- that pudgy, balding, but for some reason charming dude who hosts the festivities.

I heard a program on Fred on XM that played remixes of these songs!

Cynics be damned...it's a great show and I always get a kick out of seeing it. Plus I've seen a ton of Bob Mould videos on there. On VH-1 Classics I once saw the promo video Husker Du did for "Love is All Around" where Grant Hart's mom or grandma (can't remember) is seen drunk. Great stuff!!

No.

I live in a small shack in West Virginia, wear overalls, and work outside most days.  My favorite shows are "Moesha" and old "Baywatch" reruns.

I am also a man, and will tell you that my times living in the Sigma Nu house at school fucking rocked.

 Cheers

Well, I hate to piss on your party.....BUT.....this show IS great when you first start watching it......which I did the day it first aired......I have TIVO gather each new episode.....then I edit it down into tremendous "best of" compilations.....the really fucking annoying thing that you'll find is after the first month or two damn near 75% of what you see are nothing but REPEATS!.....and you'll find yourself getting maybe 1 or 2 videos that you haven't seen before AT MOST in an hour show!....If I have to see another fucking Soup Dragons or Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine video that I've already seen 14 times I'm going kill that tubby host,Eddie Trunk!....Same goes with REM or The Cure or many of the other repeats they cram down your throat......they have such a huge catalog to choose from and yet they show the same stuff over & over....in the beginning ,though,it's like being a kid in a candy store.....have fun while it lasts!!!......rotten out....

Got Haggis?

yeah i noticed a lot of repeats....the very first episode was great though, mainly because Al Jourgensen was co-hosting...(and that bastard got my hopes up when he said Skinny Puppy and Ministry would be touring together....which never happened)

thanks for the tip medusa...we just got a tivo for xmas and it's a perfect show to tape and watch at leisure...last night's episode was pretty good; they played elvis costello, the clash, rem, fishbone, new order, siouxie and the banshees (and mentioned that her first gig was opening for the sex pistols at the 100 Club in London in 1979 with sid vicious on drums...the 100 Club was one of my favorite bars during the time i spent there).
