That’s not a nice thing to say

May not have been his prime at 75 but he was doing right by his constituents

I don't know...seems that not hanging onto an office while you are dying isn't "right" by your constituents.

We are all human. People forget that it’s normal as you get old to lie to yourself and think you are better than you are. My dad and Joe Biden are great examples. We are humans not robots

It’s not as if his district is competitive and a MAGA has a chance

Gerry Connolly,
I will say, I am happy we had Gerry as he helped create a great Fairfax bike trail that I have spent much time in the last few years exploring
https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/trails/cross-county-trail
a trail over 40 miles long connecting the entire county from one end to the other -- the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail (GCCCT of Fairfax County, Virginia.)

thanks Gerry for leading the cause on this

It’s not as if his district is competitive and a MAGA has a chance
Democratic Stronghold: The 11th district is located in the affluent suburbs of Northern Virginia, encompassing much of Fairfax County, and has a strong Democratic lean.
he won the seat by 34 percentage points in his last election

Right...so he could've easily stepped aside!

could care less about football, but the second line piqued me

the Jim Irsay Collection, featured iconic items such as:

Guitars:
Kurt Cobain’s Fender Mustang from the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video ($4.6 million)
Jerry Garcia’s custom “Tiger” guitar, played at his final Grateful Dead show
Bob Dylan’s guitar from the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where Dylan famously “went electric” ($965,000)
David Gilmour’s black Fender Stratocaster ($3.9 million)
George Harrison’s Gibson SG used on The Beatles’ Revolver album ($567,000)
Ringo Starr’s bass drum from The Beatles’ 1964 Ed Sullivan Show debut ($2 million), and his first Ludwig drum kit ($2.2 million)

seems like the Dylan one he got for a bargain
found in an attic! Dylan tried to get it back unsuccessfully https://www.guitarworld.com/features/bob-dylan-newport-folk-festival-fender-stratocaster

more info here https://www.jimirsaycollection.com/
even did a tour that made a stop in DC in 2021

this one is classic tho

This bass, and its matching fur guitar, were used in the music video ZZ Top's single "Legs" from their album Eliminator (1983).

this is cool and bizarre, but could see appealing to the ticket keepers on the board
tickets (2) to Ford's Theatre from the night of Abraham Lincoln’s Assassination

Oh man, I got invited by a friend to one of the concerts he had put together with his "band"...the whole thing was surreal. Kenny Aronoff and Mike Mills and Ann Wilson were performing. Tons of memorabilia, then the "concert" portion involved Irsay coming out and "singing" (my favorite part was when the roadie had to keep checking for the appropriate swivel on the hightop chair he sat on while he was singing)...but there was this video that interrupted the music. It was on some screen behind the band and it was of Irsay, in a hotel room, with some voluptuous gal (who I believe was also a backup singer). In the video she kept asking him "what's wrong Jimmy? Jimmy are you OK?" and he was gazing into a fireplace in the hotel room. Meanwhile he was "singing" something (not reminiscent of the Stooges mind you) and it was something like "this is NO FUN...there's no more FUN...this isn't FUN". My friend was like "what the FUCK are we watching?" and at that point we left. It was really, really odd.
