I'm not prone to nostalgia, but the Bush 41 service really makes me miss the days when adults and decent men were not uncommon in DC.

If only someone like him was around today to assist in assassinations.

Pete Shelley (Buzzcocks)

Bummer

I was just talking yesterday with my library co-worker and punk expert about the Shelley book of lyrics we got. As much as I liked Shelley, I didn't think it was a book we needed for the collection (it was acquired through a pre-approval program our library has with our main source of books). Now we're keeping it.

Dammit.

Wasn't really planning on starting the baby's Buzzcock training for another year or two.  Guess we'll start today.

Another one I never saw, intended to see one or more of the last local shows, and failed to do so. RIP.

I saw them at black cat maybe 8 years ago...Shelley and Diggle still totally had it! I loved it

Everyone listens to their singles comp but they have some killer albums full of deep cuts that few hear....they were damn influential in Manchester...in the early days...as I recall they drove to London to see the Pistols and then got them to play Manchester...that legendary show everyone was at that then formed bands and created the Manchester scene

A really unique and interesting band...smart

Shelley was kind enough to sign my lp

As great as their early stuff was, my favorite memories of he band will be of getting high AF with friends in college and listening to A Different Kind of Tension over and over again.

He was one of the greatest.

Does anybody remember a song by Pete Shelley from the Some Kind of Wonderful soundtrack form about 1987? Only years later did I realize the Pete Shelley was the Buzzcocks guy.
