'Frosty Freeze' was 44
Wayne "Frosty Freeze" Frost, a member of the legendary Rock Steady Crew, has died. He was 44.
Frost was famous for his performance in the 1983 movie "Flashdance," a series of deft dance moves that helped set off the breakdancing craze at the height of hip-hop's golden years. He also appeared in such seminal hip-hop films as Wild Style, Beat Street and Style Wars, and the cover of The Village Voice in 1981.
"He was one of the most charismatic b-boys that ever lived," Benson Lee, director of the documentary Planet B-Boy, told the Associated Press.
Frost died on Thursday at New York's Mount Sinai Medical Center after a battle with an unspecified long-term illness. Funeral arrangements are also unknown at this time.
