did he write that Don Henley song?
fun fact...guitarist Mike Campbell from Tom Petty wrote that guitar lick and Tom didn't like it so Jimmy Iovine said, play it for Don

Yes, but through some clever legal maneuvering from Henley, he never got his songwriting credit which made him very upset, hence, the Wrath of Kahn.

I just read a bio on Petty (the authorized one by Zanes) and there is definitely a section on how ticked off Petty was to have passed on the riff and changing things moving forward

Henley is a dick and his manager Azoff maybe the biggest prick in the music biz and that is saying something

They may have screwed Mike on $ but Campbell’s name appears as a co-writer

Lyle Mays (Pat Metheny Group)
In grad school I played several of the big band charts that he wrote when he was a student at North Texas State University. Definitely some future jazz, still ahead of its time.

DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall dies

Andrew Weatherall, one of the UK's most respected DJs and record producers, has died aged 56.

The musician, who was born in Windsor, rose to fame during the acid house era, and worked with the likes of New Order and Happy Mondays.

His production and remix work on Primal Scream's Screamadelica turned it into an era-defining album, and earned the band the first Mercury Prize in 1992.

Sad news about Andrew Weatherall, definitely a big part of my life’s soundtrack.  Always partial to those Two Lone Swordsmen records.  His remix of MBV Soon is one of all time favorite tracks.

One of Weatherall’s more recent remixes for Confidence Man, a very Screamadelic feel to this one.  Also, I totally dig Confidence Man.  I once described them as fluffy in all the right ways
