Call me a fanboy, but I'm really digging the CD.
I just got back from Asheville (I saw shows 5 and 6), and I can't help but compare the CD versions to the live versions.
"Doomsday Clock" and "Tarantula" sound as expected. Both solid songs, in my opinion.
"7 Shades of Black" is different than what I thought it would be, but in a good way. I think it would be a decent MCIS outtake.
"Bleeding the Orchid" is good both live and studio. It would have been a standout track on Machina.
I'm not sure how I feel about "That's The Way" yet. It's OK.
"Starz" is awesome. The WE ARE STARZ / WE ARE chorus is a bit odd sounding with the 10,000 layers of vocals, but it's still my favorite song on the CD. Live, it's easily the 2nd best of the Zeitgeist era (to only "Gossamer")
"United States" rocks. The vocals are a lot different than the live version, but the song is still epic.
"Neverlost" sounds better studio. I like it.
"Bring the Light" is quite surprising. It's a hidden gem on the CD.
"(Come On) Let's Go" rocks. It should be the 2nd single.
"For God and Country" is nowhere near as good as the live version. I guess I need to hear it more.
I'm just listening to "Pomp and Circumstances" for the first time. Is this Enya?
"Death From Above" (b-side) sounds like an 80's theme song. What the hell?
WHY ISN'T "GOSSAMER" ON THE CD?!
