Pearl Jam seating
« on: May 16, 2006, 01:28:00 pm »
I just went on Ticketmaster to see if PJ tickets were available and found one for Sec. 436 which is directly behind the stage according to the graphic TM provides. Is this a normal practice or are they changing the stadium setup for this show? Has anyone ever sat behind the stage before? I'm kind of surprised they haven't sold out Boston and DC yet.

They've done this for years now (sell 360 tickets)

They use an open stage setup - no frills.

They do a decent job of acknowledging the fans in the back & I've seen them play a song or two turned to the back.

You'll be able to see fine - BUT you will spend the majority of the show looking @ Matt Cameron's back.

another nice thing with the 10c tickets on this tour is that they are actually waiting in an envelope with your name and 10c number on them at the 10c window.  it doesn't matter what time you get them as long as you get them before they start.  i know that in the past they have said it didn't matter what time you picked them up, but it did as they just pulled them off of a pile based upon one's 10c number.

Not floor, but 200 level right beside the stage (Section 226, row D)

My Morning Jacket is the opener on 5/30 at the V.  Hmmm if you gaven't seen PJ since 1992 well the big diff probably is that they don't leap around so much anymore and Eddie doesn't crowdsurf or climb into the lighting rigs anymore. Also their collective hair is quite a bit shorter.  They still rock quite effectively however.

Agreed. I'd go Lily.

I'd argue that they are better now than early 90's. They've become extremely accomplished musicians. And they execute an incredibly varied setlist each night.

The only negative for you would be if you haven't heard any of the records since 10. That's a lot of tunes you won't know.

And don't buy the common misconception that their records are crap after Vitalogy. While it's true that their more recent output is not as consistently good as Ten or Vs - some of their best songs are scattered throughout the latter records. I'd also rate the new record (st May 06) up with their first 3.
