Stapp Arrested for Allegedly Being Drunk

 The Associated Press
 Monday, February 13, 2006; 6:58 PM

LOS ANGELES -- One day after reportedly getting married, former Creed lead singer Scott Stapp was arrested for investigation of being drunk at Los Angeles International Airport.

Stapp was taken into custody by airport police at 6 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol, airport spokesman Tom Winfrey said Monday.

He was booked and released on $250 bail from an area jail the same day, Winfrey said.

Winfrey did not know what drew the attention of police to Stapp.

Stapp's publicist, Dvora Vener Englefield, said Monday she had no comment.

Stapp, 32, married former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat Friday night in Miami, with his 7-year-old son Jagger as best man, People magazine reported on its Web site.

The singer, who founded Creed, won a Grammy Award in 2000 for the band's song "With Arms Wide Open." He debuted his solo album, "The Great Divide," last year.

In a November interview with The Associated Press, Stapp said he was his "own worst enemy, in being self-destructive."

"Just when pressure will mount, I'll go do something stupid, just to blow off some steam and end up hurting myself," he said. "Just like being stupid and getting in trouble, I'll beat up somebody, get drunk and act like an idiot and get out of control."

A March 8 date was set for Stapp's arraignment, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff's jail information Web site.

I find it difficult to believe that is the best looking woman they could find to represent the Empire State.

Kid Rock, Stapp Sex Tape To Hit Stores?
 ... from www.billboard.com

 February 16, 2006, 3:45 PM ET

 Jonathan Cohen, L.A.
A videotape showing Kid Rock and former Creed frontman Scott Stapp engaging in explicit sexual activity with four female fans on a tour bus has been acquired by California company Red Light District, the distributor of the notorious 2004 Paris Hilton sex tape "One Night in Paris."

The company has launched a 40-second preview clip of the 45-minute tape at the Web sites KidRockSexTape.com and ScottStappSexTape.com and says it plans to release the entire video at some point this year.

Red Light District president David Joseph tells Billboard.com he purchased the tape, which was shot in 1999 while Rock and Creed were on tour, from "a third-party source who was about to put it out for free on the Internet. I basically stopped him from doing that."

Joseph says his attempts to contact Rock and Stapp, who do not engage in sex acts with one another on the tape, have so far been unsuccessful. "This wasn't just shot by one person -- there were a lot of people holding the camera," he says. "Because of that, it's not necessary that we need [Rock and Stapp] to sign off on this. We left messages for them but they didn't respond, so maybe they didnâ??t take it seriously."

Joseph declined to offer additional details about the tape's original owner or what exactly is depicted on it, other than to say, "It's really good. I wish I was a rock star, I tell you. I'm in the wrong business."

The news comes just five days after Stapp was arrested for public intoxication while trying to board a plane at Los Angeles International Airport. The singer was married a day earlier in Miami.

Representatives for Stapp and Rock did not respond to requests for comment by deadline.
