Any meteorology experts here?
« on: September 03, 2004, 09:43:00 am »
We're going somewhere this weekend where the high temp will be 72, the wind speed 15, and the humidity 77%.

What will these factors make the actual temp feel like?

I believe you have to factor in barometric pressure, as well as which direction the wind is blowing. But my guess is it will feel like 72-75.

I personally don't need a weatherman to tell me which way the wind blows.

I'm telling you -- it's 73 degrees. 73.05066961 to be precise.

 Heat index (HI), or apparent temperature (AI) = -42.379 + 2.04901523(Tf) + 10.14333127(RH) - 0.22475541(Tf)(RH) - ((6.83783 x 10-3)(Tf2) - ((5.481717 x 10-2)(RH2) + ((1.22874 x 10-3)(Tf2)(RH)) + ((8.5282 x 10-4)(Tf)(RH2)) - ((1.99 x 10-6)(Tf2)(RH2))

Tf= air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, RH= relative humidity expressed as a whole number

Hey, does anyone remember when Maury Povich anchored local news on 5?

And what's up with Jim Vance?  I remember him being anchor on 4 as far back as 1969.

Jim Vance used to be a cokehead in the 70's.  No lie.

And what about Willard phreakin' Scott?  He was awesome!  He dressed up as George Washington to do the weather.  Did you know that he was the original Ronald McDonald?  I once saw willard-as-ronald in a parade in Springfield.
