Does it always take this long for tickets?
« on: November 08, 2003, 11:16:00 am »
I ordered 2 tickets for the Jason Mraz show the Friday after they went on sale and they gave us the confirmation email that we got the 2 tickets and all, but it's been weeks since we ordered them and they still haven't come. They sent us an email stating that whole 48 hours before the show deal - but do they ever come sooner than that? I don't wanna wait until 2 days before the show and have them send me some excuse like "They got lost in the mail, sorry." What's going on?

Tickets often come in the week before the show. But if your tickets gets lost in the post (or if your wife throws them away and you say they got lost in the post) you can call tickets.com they put you on the list at the door.

so there is nothing for you to worry about.

I ordered tix for Galactic back in Sept. and the whole 48 hours thing before the show is crap.  I  waited until yesterday (48 hours prior to show) and still no tickets.  So I called Tickets.com and was told my tix were returned to them as undeliverable.  Can they not notify me that there was a problem w/ the delivery? I was really hoping to avoid the lines at the box office window. It seems that if you order tix in advance you shouldn't have to wait in line at the club w/ those people who are buying tix just before the show.  What's the point in buying in advance and paying the service and shipping/handling charges if that's the case?  The only option now is to put my tix at Will Call.  Great.  I'd be better off canceling the order, get a refund, and just show up and go to the "cash sales only" line and get through the door in half the time.

Unless the show sells out......

That is the main reason I buy tickets in advance.

Dude, the line at the show for Will Call is SO tiny.  I've never seen more than four or five people on it.  Chill.  It's a different line from the sales line.

Though I'd be frustrated with tickets.com as well.

It's all about making sure you get tickets to a show that may sell out.  Shipping is a small portion of the freakin' extra charges, and you have to pay it whether they mail 'em or not, I believe.

I've never seen extensive lines at either place, unless you're one of those folks planning to get there and wait on line before the doors open.  If that's the case, you should NOT wait to get tickets that night unless you're SURE it's a show that won't sell out.

And don't you lose the tickets.com charges if you get a refund anyway?  I know ticketbastard does that when a show is cancelled.

Listen, I understand your frustration at not getting the tix delivered, but dealing with the club is going to be no problem.

I've never had a complaint about the club itself -it's my favorite live music venue.  And I never had a trouble with the line except for the Keller Williams show last week - Will Call and credit ticket sales were the same window.  The line was around the block.  And I heard others in line complaining that it was like that when they were there for something a week prior. I just hope it's not going to become the norm, that's all.

**Usually** the will call line is short.  The Keller Williams (is that his name?) show saturday seemed to have every freakin' person in the will call line.  It was huge.  Otherwise you are right.

Hmm, was that Keller show announced particularly late?  'Cuz for a show that sells fast and early, there shouldn't be much will call.

I've never seen a line, but I'm pretty chill and don't show up super early.  Got other places to drink!

the only times the will call line gets particularly long is when a big show gets announced late, or tons of people buy their tickets late, or all the scenesters show up fashionably late at exactly the same time.

when there's a ton of will call, we usually split it up between the two box offices to speed things up a bit.

we even made a mobile tactical will call assault cart for the justin timberlake and blink shows and took the will call to the line.
