Mankie seems to think that anybody who makes any kind of slightly off color joke employing the use of gay references is a homophobe, and thus, a repressed homosexual.
 
    He thinks that employing such psychology 101 notions makes him better than his blue collar upbringing that he is a little bit ashamed of when in the presence of people of higher learning.
