"Idaho suffers from a continuing reputation as a home for wackos and extremists. The danger is always present that this stuff will go mainstream. Now, apparently, it has in the form of the weatherman at the NBC television affiliate in Pocatello, ID, KPVI, who claims Hurricane Katrina was caused by the Japanese mafia using a weather machine made in Russia in the 1970s..."

It's obvious that Katrina was caused by God's wrath over New Orleans being the center of the shrimp industry:

Speaking of weather, I heard a story on the BBC driving home that was interesting and potentially scary:
  Ocean changes will cool Europe

Let's hope the statistics are due to variability.

How were the skies like when you were young?

They went on and on forever and
When I, we lived in Arizona
And the skies always had little fluffy clouds in them
And, they were long, clear there were lots of stars at night
And we were dreaming they'd all turn
 They they were beautiful
The most beautiful skies as a matter of fact
 Ah, the sunsets were
Purple and red and yellow and blue and firing
The clouds would catch the glizzard
That's it's neat 'cause I used to look at them all the time
 You don't see that

 Firing different sounds
 Firing different sounds

 Little fluffy clouds
 Little fluffy clouds
 Little fluffy clouds
 Little fluffy clouds

How were the skies like when you were young?

You don't see that many clouds
 Little fluffy clouds
 Little fluffy clouds
 Little fluffy clouds

Th-they were long, clear there were lots of stars at night
 (The-the-the-the-they)
And we were dreaming they'd all turn

Purple and red and yellow and blue and firing
The clouds would catch the glizzard

 You don't see that
You might still see them in the desert

The most beautiful skies as a matter of fact
 Purple and red
Purple and red and yellow and blue and firing
And red and yellow and blue and firing
The clouds would catch the glizzrd
And red and yellow and blue and firing
You might still see them in the desert...

Really?  To be honest I haven't heard anything from them since the CD with Little Fluffy Clouds.  I'd  be interested to hear your opinion of their new stuff once you give it a listen....

Exoskeletal sections, not scales.  All crustaceans have exoskeletons

Okay, I was going to let this go, but seeing as someone else brought up the subject of clouds...........We live in a remote area of County Cork in a house that is about 1/2km from the south coast. On any given day we will see between 5 - 8 commercial aircraft flying overhead. 3 weekends ago I got up on Sunday morning, made my coffee and looked out the kitchen window to admire the view of the Atlantic as is my usual early morning routine.....and counted at least 21 contrails in an almost perfect # pattern?

 What's up with that?
