Some guy at the show stole Markie's schtick.

Between songs he yelled "Where's Anton?" to the Warlocks.

The response was, "at his house getting drunk."

this is one of those can't-win deals. but, just for everyone's information, the calls were about 10 to 1 in favor of people who wanted us to put the show on.

the band was there (having made it up from NC), the club was operational, a lot of people wanted to come down.

so how was it irresponsible? if you felt that it was too dangerous, you didn't need to come down. your choice. it's just a rock concert. we didn't make anyone come crawling over broken glass to get to a life-sustaining resource. if you think it was that life-and-death to cancel the show, in the name of safety, then you are basically admitting that it was important enough to put on the show for those that wanted to go.

are the movie theaters all irresponsible for showing movies in th storm? how about the stores that managed to stay open? should they have closed in case you decided it was too dangerous to shop there?

 however...
as in all of these emergency situations, we would be happy to exchange your unused ticket for another show. call the club for details. [/b]
Just be grateful no one was injured in an accident on the way to the show on such a bad evening...you know it would've been the clubs fault for not cancelling, just ask any scumbag lawyer...which is basically all lawyers.

Actually, I don't think the club is liable if someone is injured on the way to the club. That is pure foolishness.

Now if someone were injured AT the club, and it was caused by the weather, that maybe is another story.

Warning The holder assumes all risk and danger incidental to the Event, whether occurring prior to, during, or subsequent to the actual playing of the Event, including specifically (but not exclusively), the danger of being injured by thrown bats and thrown or batted balls, pucks or other similar objects, and agrees that the participating clubs or teams, venue operator, or event promoter, the league, their respective owners, shareholders, partners, agents, players, officers, directors, contractors and employees are not liable for injuries resulting from such causes.

MacDonalds don't put big Mac's in fat bastards mouths but evidently it's their fault they're fat bastards....people want to make other people responsible for their own stupid decisions.

Guiny, it was only a 4 MPH difference in sustained winds that made it a tropical storm as oppossed to a hurricane. And your taste in music is irrelevant here. Also, it's very obvious that you haven't seen my neighborhood or that of many others.

Seth, thanks so much for having a heart for those of us who had to forfeit a damn good show. Hope they come back very soon!

IT WAS THE BEST SHOW SO FAR THIS YEAR, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WARLOCKS. THOSE GUYS WERE GOOD, BUT THE SINGER IS A BIT OFF.

is it just me or is this thread 'fflicted?   It only shows the first of three pages on the front page.  I was wondering why nobody had said anything about how the show was.     <img src="http://www.alex.to/ubb/confused.gif" alt=" - " />

I have to say, I came downtown from the NW DC/MD line without any real problems, and drove home (around midnight) with even fewer.  I'm awfully sorry to those balmor folks out there (Jag! Man that sucks...) but for those of us in DC, there was hardly a hitch.  I can't remember who said it, but Isabel did end up making it a pretty special night...excellent set from the Warlocks and a phenomenal set from BRMC, capped with a huge 3 song encore.  Not a bad night to meet, GGW.
