Mclusky no more
« on: January 10, 2005, 09:27:00 am »
Another band I missed seeing for lame reasons...

 10th January 2005

The three piece rock band known as mclusky have disbanded, as of friday january 7th, 2005.

The reason for this parting is private, though probably not as entertaining as you'd imagine.

Personally, I would like to thank all the people, places and times that occured on or near us.

I`m grateful for the love and to to a lesser degree, the hate. There'll be more music soon, from all of us.

 Regards.

more bad news - I liked their debut album

Canadian oddball indieists The Unicorns have disbanded.
Despite only recently releasing their debut record ??Who Will Cut Our Hair When We??re Gone?? in the UK on Rough Trade last November, the four piece have agreed that they will not be working together for the foreseeable future.

A senior source close to the band (don??t you love that phrase?) said ? ...don't know if this is a permanent decision, but for the time being they are no longer going to work together. My sincere hopes are that they will work through their differences and come together to make music with each other. I think at the very least they owe it to themselves. That being said, the most important thing is that they take some time and figure out what they want out of life and the music world.?

That's too much bad news for a Monday. I loved both McLusky and The Unicorns.

More bad news. Chris Scruggs has left BR549 to pursue a solo career.

Awww, give Rhett a break.  The poor guy is just airing his band-splitting grievances like the rest of us.

That is a bummer about Slobberbone.  They were next on my "Rhett's List of Suggested Listening" that, so far, hasn't disappointed.
