Julians use of "Spotted" in his Richmond thread reminded me of something that I just can't get over now, and I'm not sure who's more at fault. It really bothers me when I watch Gossip Girl now.
So Twitter started in 2006, reaching real popularity (or its "Tippiing Point" to steal from MG and wiki) in March of 2007 at SXSW.
Gossip Girl first aired in Sept 2007 and used text messaging to send messages in a twitter style.
How did the writers of Gossip Girl not use Twitter as the vehicle to be hip, or conversely, how, after the pilot was out, did the Twitter folks not try to capitilize on Gossip Girl's popularity? That's a marketers dream come true.
We haven't heard from GG this season so far, but if they don't use Twitter this season I'm likely to throw something across the room. This is unacceptable.
