For those of you who are tired of paying for anti-virus subscriptions, Microsoft unveiled a free product yesterday (used to be Live One Care):

And yes, I see the irony in letting MS handle your security needs, but hey, it's free.

Any CSS experts out there?  Send me a PM....I've run into a problem that I can't fix.

EDIT: I guess I was just distracted by the United match.  I fixed the problem as soon as the match was over...

I certainly wouldn't want to be Irish today.  There will be retribution in Europe for sure - it's not a good time to be asking for any favors from your neighbors.

Irish Voters Appear to Reject Treaty on Europe

It's absolutely ridiculous that (1) such a decision on governmental efficiency is left to the voters and (2) that it requires unanimous approval of 27 member countries.  Nothing will ever get done if those two requirements exist.

I'm going to say they pass it this time now that the campaign of misinformation has been disspelled on nuetrality, abortion and taxes and they've been guaranteed a commissioner.

It's amazing what a slumping economy can do to the voting electorate...

I was in Dublin this summer and slumping is right, saw signs of the recession everywhere ... for example, a golf course we went to had an "unemployment special" running for weekday mornings (it was a classy joint)

How big are you looking for?  I have this and love it for smaller rooms:

JBL On Stage Micro ($30 on JBL's Ebay page...)

For the bigger room I have the iPod dock hooked up to a stereo.

I'm moving this topic from hockey over here. . . .

how long will hulu be free if comcast gets control of nbc.

"The nation's leading cable company has made no secret of its disdain for Hulu's approach of giving away the shows that Comcast and other pay-TV distributors spend billions for -- and rely on to retain subscribers. Comcast is in talks with NBC Universal about pooling their entertainment assets into a new company that would own 30% of Hulu in addition to the NBC network and cable channels such as Bravo, E! and Syfy. Comcast would control the new entity and possibly have the clout to push Hulu to begin charging for access to some of its most popular shows...."

it depends on the ipod.  for example, i have the dock smackie posted and i use it for an ipod shuffle in the baby's room and it has the option to not charge. . .but the shuffle sits on a shuffle dock converter and the converter has the charge/not charge option.  i'm less certain about non-shuffle's.

Sure. Take your ipod off the dock when you're not using it....

The JBL speaker does not (at least I haven't found it if it does).  As a self professed battery freak, I use the 3.5mm plug for the ipod at least once a month until the battery dies.  The other three weeks I use the dock, but take the iPod off the dock when I'm not using it.

Sometimes, I will also use the AAA battery option instead of plugging it in.  This will also not charge the iPod.
