sounds like the merger is a good move for at&t then?

Haha.

I'm sure the move had nothing to do with expanding at&t's market share of Android phones and everything to do with expanding (or dominating) GSM and LTE spectrum.

Given t-mo's open handset policy and at&t's closed handset policy, I'm sure there are quite a few Android users who will jump ship to CDMA if at&t doesn't lighten up.

What I really wonder is what will Google Corporate do?  They need to be on GSM given their international reach and LOATHE working with at&t...maybe that's why Sprint is getting the Nexus series?  Put the non travelers on Sprint and everyone else on at&t? Or maybe they oppose the merger?

this is going to be a grueling, bitter year+ battle at the FCC with AT&T, t-mobile and sprint all fighting for survival ... the FCC ex parte rules encourage total free-for-alls with each side clawing to make their case heard, and this is going to be a really ugly one

maybe cupcakes help?

With Audiogalaxy and my homeserver, I don't need this.  But for the rest of you....

It has been rumored for a while now that Google would launch a cloud-based music service; well, it appears Amazon got there first.

Amazon has just quietly launched one of its biggest products yet, called Amazon Cloud Player. It provides users with cloud storage of their music, which will then play on any computer or Android device.

To enable the service, go to Amazon.com/Clouddrive to get started. You'll have to enable it on your Amazon account and then update your Amazon Mp3 app, which will enable streaming of all music located on your new Amazon storage.

Amazon is currently providing users with 5GB of free storage with the ability to buy additional storage:

20GB - $20/year
50GB - $50/year
100GB - $100/year
200GB - $200/year
500GB - $500/year
1000GB - $1000/year

This is a big one folks. It's a developing story, so stay tuned for any more details.

Amazon Cloud Player

Which is more shocking?  The music industry doesn't like this, or that Amazon didn't consult them first?
