Tay Zonday's videos are kind of like Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time" video.

I think you're operating on hyperbole.  Not very many videos/songs are better than Eddie Murphy, "Party All The Time."  Plus it was produced by Rick James.  Can't beat that . . .

Rick James, BITCH! Rick James . . .

"Chocolate rain" has become the name at my house for the byproduct of my son's stomach virus.

Some stay dry while others feel the pain.

NKOTB sent me a link for a parody where the guy sounds like Sideshow Bob.

I'll admit, in a thread entitled "Chocolate Rain" I was certainly worried about what that link would lead to...

From his youtube page:

I am a singer-songwriter-vocalist. I might do anything. No style is off-limits. No two videos are alike. From Bach to Tupac, Expect the Unexpected!

Yes, I have a deep voice. No, I don't fake it. Yes, I look young. I am 25 years old. I have never studied piano or voice formally.
No formal study? I don't buy it...

A friend of mine taught himself guitar and is really good.  People can pick things up on their own.

Hmmm, my sarcastic typing skillz must be a bit off today.  I'll work on that.

I could take your original post a few ways.

 1.  This guy sucks.
 2.  This guy is great.
 3.  This guy must have taken lessons because he is playing a piano.

 I went with #3 because I haven't determined for myself #1 or #2.

Though I am leaning towards #1, I can't say that he sucks...but I don't think that he shows any training, at least not vocally.  Something is just not quite right about how he sings. I think he's got the pipes, he's just not using them to their full potential.

 It's certainly entertaining though.

I watch it once a day.  He just doesn't look like he'd sing like that.

It's like Urkel swallowed Paul Robeson.
