Got my ticket at 7:55. Three fan club folks recognized me from Camden on Saturday and offered me their extra.. floor section 3, Row J. ..about 10 rows back on Stone's side. ..That's what the fans of this band are about.. funny how so many of the same faces in the front rows at these shows. ..much thanks to those guys for the ticket!!!
Pearl Jam brought the rock.. Opening up with "Release" always does it for me, so my ..a-hem... 38th Pearl Jam show ..was a great one.
And although there were many highlights, I think the fact that when I was walking out I ran into Christie and Nicole, two girls I've seen at many a pop-punk or emo shows at 930 and other local venues.. walking out of the show at the same time I did, was pretty cool. These girls were 4 years old when "Ten" came out. They told me they really liked Pearl Jam and how their parents had PJ cd's that they listened to since they were kids.
When I was like .."What are *you* guys doing here?" They said, "What do you mean? How can you not like Pearl Jam? They are a true, pure rock and roll band."
I thought that was really cool coming from two 19 year olds who I know see alot of shows for their age.. but usually bands like Taking Back Sunday or Eisley or something like that...
A diverse crowd with, yes, lots of 930 staph in attendance or working. ...and Ian McKaye standing stage left for most of the whole night.
..doubt we'll see PJ playing a church for $5. anytime soon, though :p
