Snow Patrol in May

Pretty interesting.  Even though the pre-sale was hard to find, it's sold out.  Tickets still available for NYC, San Francisco and others, though.
 
 Tickets are $20.  Looks like this is going to sell rather quickly.

Nope, no openers listed.  I will note, though, that the DC show is the only one listed without a start time -- I'm actually thinking there weren't any DC presale tickets available...

I don't know snow patrol that well, but i've heard "spitting games" and "run" a few times each ... "spitting games" i liked a lot, "run" seemed like it was on the weaker side of travis/coldplay-type britpop ...
 
 does most of their stuff sound like "run"?

I'm looking forward to this show..the last one was a pretty good one and I have enjoyed their live DVD quite a bit..it's a shame they didn't get the U2 opening slot as was rumored..

i cant remember what the rest of the new album sounds like, but I think spitting games is more like their earlier albums, which is like, hmmmmmmmmm, bad sebadoh?  not really a fan, so maybe somebody else can give you a better description

the first one, i believe ... i have "vehicles and animals", which has a few really catchy songs on it (the first track, "el salvador," is the standout for me), but nothing too ground-shaking

I took it to mean the former since it says "Athlete" and not "James Yorkston and the Athletes." Also, Athlete and Snow Patrol make for a more logical billing then the alternative.

Yeah, I think I'm sitting this one out. Their second show at the club almost ruined my good memories of their first show.

 Snow Patrol's current CD is called the Final Straw.  You may find it consistently good IF you like "atmospheric, sonic/rock" (laugh here, please Fico...) Their lead guitar work is derivative of Echo and the Bunnymen.  My favorite cut is "Somewhere a Clock is Ticking", but "Run" is also on this CD. They are probably too uncool and commercial for some boardies (ahem) BUT somehow, there are enuf of us schmoos who like them, that it'll sell out.  Presale for DC, which opened at 10:00 a.m. was gone by 1:00 p.m. today - but they could have only set aside six tickets...

If you dig there were more opinions posted here last year. Who made the comment on their lyrics? Was it Markie? "I almost cry, I nearly do."   :p  heh good stuff.

I might skip this one too. I loved seeing their first show;  almost empty club (comparatively).  Then last time, packed, with screaming girls.  I loved the show, don't get me wrong, but the crowd was...eh.  Plus, they only play for about an hour (then encore).  They need to get some stamina and do a real show; none of this 75 minute set crap.  Especially now that they're getting a big enough guarantee that the club has to charge $20.00.
