turning 21 sucks...you're not jailbait anymore so smackie loses interest in you and drinking is now legal so you lose interest in it.

I'd go with the threesome idea, at least you'll remember your 21st for quite a while.

Samantha, out of this pile of astonishingly crappy advice, I'd second Miss Pretentious' recommendation of Wonderland Ballroom.   It's what a bar for adults really should be -- a real neighborhood bar, easy to strike up a conversation, good music, no attitude, and welcoming to people from outside the neighborhood... every time I go there I always end up chatting with someone cool and staying later and drinking more than I planned.  Upstairs is a lot of fun on weekends, some crazy dancing up there sometimes.   If you tell me when you'll be there I'll cover y'all's tab... I have good memories of my 21st at a cool (alas now defunct) club in DC, I hope you will too.

you could also do something crazy and go to Lesbian night at Chaos  :D

i really do love wonderland. i've never had a bad time there and it's where i always want to take my friends when they are in from out of town. it's the perfect place to do some ass-shaking.

plus, one time i was there i found some really sweet, huge black plastic aviators just sitting on one of the wall shelves... sitting lonely and awkward with the empty cups. needless to say i wore them the rest of the night, danced up on the (half)stage thing with some random girl and had a blast. the glasses are sitting on my dresser right now and i still wear them.

so now... the real question is, where do i spend my 24th birthday??
nothx

i always thought a good way to ring in your drinking legality was to go to the bar thats been serving you for years and saying "Hey!! guess what, its my 21st birthday!!!"

bahahaha.  to do that, sonick, I'd have to go to NYC...I don't think I ever really went anywhere in DC with my fake, except the Velvet Lounge, but I didn't drink.  I just went to see bands.  and I haven't even done that in yeeeears.  I never ever go out anymore...hence needing suggestions.  I'm more of a bar person than a club person, though I'm entirely open to anything, as long as I have a drink or two.

I don't know when we're going to do something, who I'm going to do whatever with (except my dude) or anything.  my birthday is on a Tuesday so it would have to be at least the weekend after...

however, if anyone's interested in a board meat-up, that could be arranged.  as long as someone doesn't mind helping me with the arranging  :p
