When he came into the league seven years ago (from VA Tech) he was seen as sort of "the ultimate weapon" quarterback. Extremely good runner, strong arm, etc. He never really learned to read defenses, in my opinion. Sort of like Randall Cunningham. He just learned to scramble a bit then make some incredible play with his arm or feet. He's sort of regressed. He's a worse quarterback than he was four years ago.
The NFL is in a Catch-22 situation. They can't really suspend him without a conviction and the case may drag on past this season. However, they have one of their most high profile athletes absolutely HATED by a large percentage of the American public. People who don't follow football AT ALL now know that one of the "stars" in the NFL killed, electrocuted and tortured defenseless dogs. From a business sense, in terms of perception, I think the NFL should ban him for life. This is far worse than what Pete Rose did.

P.S. I don't think Michael Vick is the only star athlete who is involved in dog fighting. I think others may be discovered.
