Anybody else see Cloud Cult at Iota last night? I was so excited they finally made it down this way. Such a great show!

I was there. Awesome show.  I got there a little late, and so now I'm still kicking myself for missing most of "Outside of Your Skin".

Pretty weak turnout, but I guess it was Easter Sunday...

Did you check out their tour van? Solar panels on the roof. I'm surprised they didn't say anything about their environmental commitment. Pretty cool stuff.

I read that they used to pass out environmental fact sheets at shows, but stopped doing that.  They weren't very talkative last night during the show, but like Craig said, I guess he was just bashful because the room was so quiet.

I didn't see the van, but I heard the cellist's baby was in there       , which I wasn't sure what to think of. But I talked to her for a while after the show and she was really nice. I wanted to talk to Craig, but didn't get a chance.

I was disappointed they didn't play "That Man Jumped Out The Window"

I wanted to go but just couldn't make it. Glad to hear it was good. Hopefully they'll come back!

Just wanted to say I've been listening to them since you guys posted about the show.  They're really good.  They make me think of a more fun Arcade Fire.  "living on the outside of your skin" is my fave.

Yay!

You should definitely check out  Cloud Cult's website. Craig Minowa's personal story is quite compelling, as is the band's overall environmental insanity - and I mean that in a good way.

Their record label, Earthology, is powered by renewable energy, is located on an organic farm, and uses all sorts of environmentally preferable materials for CD production. And the band donates  100% of its profits from album sales to environmental causes. How cool is that?

I checked out the website.  He seems like a really interesting person.  I really respect people who look out for the environment like that even though hardly anybody else seems to care much.  Leading by example is a much better way to get your point across than to yell at people.

I'm sorry to hear about his kid, though.  Thats tragic.  I guess it explains the album covers a little bit.

I'm glad we were able to get another Cloud Cult fan.  They really deserved a much larger audience that night.   Advice From The Happy Hippopotamus is definitely one of my favorite CDs of 2005.

Much respect to them for what they are trying to do for the environment.  And yeah, it's really sad about his kid. Jude, do you know what song they played when he said "This is for my baby boy"?

I'm pretty sure that was a new tune. I remember something about sleeping under the cornfields and "Kaidin" - which was his son's name.
