I'd like to see Blood Brothers, but I wouldn't be able to get there until 10:00, so I think I'll skip this one.

Cursive kicks ass, AND there new album grows on you.  However, I am broke and live in Baltimore, so I am not going.  Cursive has that cool Fugazi feel to them....and its good to jump around to.
Are you happy? i hate to disappoint!

Jeez, that arythmic noise is even worse than cursive, which I am not sure is even possible.

Forget Cursive, drag your lame asses out to TT Reynolds and scream for Exit Clov as they try to win the Battle of the Bands tonite!

I won't be at the Cursive show. Don't like them. And I completely hate The Blood Brothers. In fact, they are #1 on my list right now of bands that drive me fucking insane whenever I have to put up with hearing them. To me, they sound like a cross between Hot Hot Heat and Alvin and the Chipmunks.   ;)

I will be at the Cursive show, and I have defended them here before, so will not go through it again.

A friend talked me into buying Cursive's new album recently, and with so much buzz around them, I did.  Full price.  It's awful.  Completely awful, in my opinion.  It's the singers voice, and kind of atonal pseudo rock.  I must be missing something....

If anyone wants a copy of the new CD, hell, let me know.

Here is the quick review:

I missed the first two bands, they had merchandise, apparently one was from Japan.

Blood Brothers: 90% screaming and random noises, 5% laughable, 5% enjoyable - there is 1 song I like

Cursive: They played my favorite song second, which was really good, then it got boring fast, I really don't like the new album much, I left early

Crowd: Apparently recently hipsters switched from white belts to silver belts, and when will the trucker hats go away

You didn't get the memo?

It's just hitting the steep part of the hipster curve. Leather jackets and ironic t-shirts are out. Polo shirts (collar up) and mesh ball caps are in.

Only if the definition of "ironic" has been expanded to include stupid and ugly.

I must have missed it, another trend I noticed is the strategically place bandana hanging out the back pocket, I had to laugh to myself thinking about these people wondering if their bandada looked right, maybe they just all have runny noses and it is handy to have it hanging out

dude, "real" scenesters have stopped wearing trucker hats. Take Ft. Reno for example, summers of 2001 & 2002, ironic trucker hats everywhere, summer 2003, less than 3 trucker hats there, too mainstream, hipster disown mesh hats. I talked to the drummer of Darkest Hour, who used to always wear fine ironic trucker hats, but he doesn't weat them any more, you know because they're too trendy.
