last exam of my life is 5/8, last paper due on 5/9 ... this is going to be an epic weekend

at the DBT show last summer at the club i made the mistake of taking a shot of jack with every beer i drank ... i can't believe i was still alive after 4 hours or so of that (i woke up the next morning on my couch with ben's chili all over my shirt, i have no idea how i got home)

i'm going to need to take it a little easier this time.  but not much. [/b]

Lou Reed is one of the WORST live singers out there (almost as bad as Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins) so I wouldn't get too excited about seeing him live. Now if the reformed Velvet Underground were to tour I'd pay to see that even though Lou Reed would ruin every song he sang with his bored/lifeless monotone voice.

lou reed sounds like lou reed.  and he's very much an audiophile who emphasizes sound quality.

Even if it were a Thursday I could probably swing it. Jeez. I'm sure it would be a great show, that limited edition double live CD he put out 2 years ago is phenomenal.
his last show in annapolis was pretty great.  the venue was a sit down place with tables and he insists on complete silence. it will be interesting to see him at the ottobar seeing as the atmosphere will be so less intimate (bar in back, pool table, video games)..

come on, you know that DBT shows are
pretty much the exact opposite of red house painters / magnetic fields shows -- they're all sweaty, drunken, sold-out messes ... there will be a lot of "me's" there

Mindless conformist.   :p

Believe it or not, Drive By Truckers are one of the bands whose shows are so good that you actually don't have to be shitfaced to enjoy it.

i've found that eight or nine budweisers helps my air guitar playing immensely, pretty crucial for the three-axe-attack
