I saw Satriani with G3 at the Warner last year.  Although I love Paul Gilbert, and Satriani is amazing, that concert was almost agonizingly long.  I think shred guitar is best in small doses.
 
 As for Of Montreal, any idea how quickly these shows will sell?  I'm mostly wondering if its safe to wait about a month to buy tix for the show at The National.

Wasn't their last DC show an opening slot for Neutral Milk Hotel at the old BC?
 I would go if this happened again.
 If anyone can dig Jeff Mangum out of that hole he's been hiding in for the last 10 years, it'd be Mr. Hurwitz.

While technically not a DC show, they played The State Theatre in Falls Church March of '07.

Or why if there will ever be another one, it'd be in some random hard-to-get-to place like that King's Arms thing in '01.
