I completely agree.  Just because they're an all-girl band they became popular. Meanwhile, Sahara Hotnights are a much better band; not to mention, insanely more attractive...

I don't remember them being support for anybody recently, I think they headlined the club earlier this year

Didn't the Slumber Party open for Belle & Sebastian?  From what I read about them prior to the show, I thought they were going to be quality but I have to say after hearing them live I thought they were just awful.

When Starlight Desperation opened for BMRC at the Recher Theatre in the spring, they did a great cover of Frustration by Soft Cell as their encore.  Good stuff.

This is sort of funny to me. When I saw Starlite Desparation open for BRMC in Baltimore, I mentioned to the drummer that they would be a good opening band for The Von Bondies. Apparently, someone else agrees with me.
 
 Now The Donnas, WTF!?!?!? I cannot stand them! They give girl bands a bad name (no pun intended!). It's such a shame that it isn't someone like the 22-20s, The Archie Bronson Outfit or The Blueskins who would all be so much more appropriate. (Did Kurosawa just say this? I don't know. She and I have been pretty much of the same mind lately. Kind of like Sonick and Guiny are to each other.)
