For Walkies:
Dark Star Orchestra
9/18

is it wrong of me not to be interested in them since john left?  maybe i should give them another chance.  anybody on here seen them since the "breakup"?  (somehow i hear crickets in my future).

I saw them on NYE last year, just after John left.  I thought the new guy was really good.   Is the same guy still with them?  If so, I'd definitely recommend checking them out.

Jeff Matson   (aka the new guy)  from the Donna Jean band is officially the new fake Jerry guy.  I saw him  step in for a couple songs @ Penn's Peak shortly before John departed.   He's a monster guitar player. Seems like his forte is the bluesy, grittier style of the Dead repetoire.  As a matter of fact DSO just recently played a 1969 Dead for the first time.  The vocals do not sound as close to Jerry as John's did, but that's ok with me.  Personally can't wait to see them......Anyone seen John in Furthur?

Apparently TicketFly is doing 6th & I events now.  I assume you can still get tickets cheaper through their box office.  Saw this:

john in furthur was mouth dropping inspiring.  the three shows i saw, you could tell by the smiles on bobby's and phil's faces that they had struck gold.  plus the fact that the crowd was like all "yeah" when it was a bobby/phil/keyboardest song . . . and "FUCK YEAH" with overwhelming hoots and clapping howls when john's voice came through the mike.

When i talked to friends of mine about the My Bloody Valentine show at the National last summer, I hated it that everyone of them thought i was talking about this crappy band.

I am only a casual Dead fan, but have always had fun at the shows. I saw the Furthur show at the Patriot Center, and John as Jerry was terrific. When he stepped forward to sing Ship of Fools, I really did get goosebumps. Great show.

I mentioned to someone that I finally caught the Magnetic Fields a couple days after the last Lisner show. He thought I was referring to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Not as bad but still...

Ok, I'll bite. Which Magnetic band is the approved one?
