Twitter is fun right now.

Republicans are stupid.

Yeah I just went ahead and said it.

Edit: oh yeah. The link: http://bzfd.it/ODbYN7

Why would anyone move to Canuckia?  Their government run health care is even worse than ours (only because it has had time to get to that point already)...

Of course you did.  Why should we be responsible for ourselves when the government will make other people pay for us and run down the quality of the product for everyone...  It is much better to be mindless sheep with no personal responsibility than to actually get off our collective asses and make our lives better through hard work and taking responsibility for our own actions.  The Savior has spoken, we should all bow down and obey!

RatBastard, just curious, have you had good experiences with our health care system? Do you have insurance? Are you covered by your employer?

Not trying to be provocative, I just want to hear about your experiences.

The Affordable Care Act is responsible for directing the cost of care for the uninsured away from those who already have insurance back to those who are going to use the care themselves. In our current system the unmet cost of providing 'free' healthcare to those individuals who lack coverage but use services, typically in the hospital emergency room, is absorbed by those who currently have insurance in the form of higher rates. By insuring as many people as possible, the cost burden is put back on those who will actually use the care, the previously uninsured. This only sounds complicated when filtered through Movement Conservative mouth pieces whose sole interest is greed.

I have insurance that I pay for out of my pocket.  I have been out of work for over 4 years.  I am 56 and have been in the hospital for various surgeries over 30 times since childhood.  I made the choice long ago to be personally responsible and buy health insurance rather than depend on someone else to provide it for me.  The only part of my insurance that is a PITA is getting them to pay everything they are supposed to under the policy.  Insurance companies seem to have an unwritten policy in place that has them deny the initial claim for anything that they can even slightly slide into a gray area.  Then it is up to the consumer to keep fighting and not fold to gt the claim paid.  On one of my recent claims, I was denied a payment of $5,000 and was told I had to pay it out of pocket.  It took me over a year to make the insurance company understand everything involved and why they should pay.  Eventually they paid.  But back to the primary point, yes I have insurance and it is because I made the choice to buy health care instead of beer, cigarettes, lottery tickets, designer clothes, brand new cars, and any other material crap that is far less in my best interest.
