I didn't think the '08 and '09 shows were too loud at all but found last year's painful.

The last time at the club was the loudest I've heard them. Even with earplugs, it was unpleasant and stupid. Joe was there, too.

Wear earplugs.  They are SO LOUD.

i didn't think the last show was that loud.  i wasn't at the 01 show at 930, but i was at another.  01 (cat's cradle) /02 (ottobar) were the loudest years i saw.  i think i only wore earplugs for two of the shows (out of 17?).

i'll definitely be there though.  sadly i've hardly been up to the club in the past few years.

Good thing Chain and the Gang open for Chelsea Light Moving, because I will have to probably skip the other one.

You gotta see Guerilla Toss! They are playing a Baltimore gig the following night I think.

Pig Destroyer + Darkest Hour + Black Clouds
@ the Fillmore, 12/21/13

2/3rds of this show happened at the Black Cat earlier this year and was awesome (Well, Pig Destroyer especially).

Wow, I'm kind of amazed they're playing the fillmore, though I haven't been there so don't exactly have a basis for saying that. But its capacity is 2,000 and that seems like a LOT for a band like Pig Destroyer. That said, the BC show was very sold out (though it didn't sell out until a few days before showday) and it was GREAT.

Yeah that show was really great! Pig Destroyer's beer was tasty! This show will be our area's chance to see the new 4 piece version of the band. I saw a video where they covered Helmet's "In The Meantime" and liked it. That show will fill the room out quite nicely I think.

Pig Destroyer is also playing Strange Matter in Richmond the night before (Dec 20th) w/ Noisem & Occultist

That Pig Destroyer beer is called Pernanent Funeral. Currently the #44 beer on beer advocate top 250 beers list. http://beeradvocate.com/lists/top

Can't wait to try it when i go to Indiana next month.

Sounds about as expensive as a Sting/Simon show. Likely to have better food though.

Ho ho ho... I see what you did there, dusting off one of my favorite 930.com tropes!
