But, same bind as we always run in to...where else to go as the next step up?  There's seems to be a gap between 9:30 and the next step up, and Black Cat and the next step down...

Occasionally. Obviously with their Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays prebooked by EDM groups, they don't pull the concert lineups they used to, but yes, every mnoth or so an actual band will play there.
 
 And to answer someone's question, I've seen DCFC three times, and while they're not "30 times better live" or anything like that, I had no complaints.

didn't belle & sebastian play DAR?  that would have been my first guess for DCFC ... or maybe two nights at 930 ... it just seems like they should be in the roseland ballroom size clubs now
