I haven't heard the new record, but I've always thought they were just kind of a novelty act -- a female-fronted punk band.  The other releases are just kind of blah, and I thought their show was pretty blah as well.  And generally I like straightforward punk.

I thought I'd read quite a few raves about the Distillers on here before.  I don't know them, but posted 'cuz I thought they were a board fave.  In the "best albums of 2003" thread I thought they came up a lot...

it was seeing them and afi with rancid a few years back that prompted me to think all the good punk rocks songs had already been written... of course afi rocks the world of many youngin's, so what do i know.

 2)anyone know how far it is from NYC? about 5 hours maybe?
