Running marathons really put a crimp in my attendance too.

odd? do most marathons start at 9pm?
Seems like you are just making excuses

one doesn't just wake up one morning and run 26.2 miles at the drop of a hat... it's an all-encompassing lifestyle (or, at a minimum, a very serious months-long dedication). Walking up 4-6 times a week to run up to 10 miles before breakfast, watching what you eat, cutting back or eliminating alcohol, etc. when the missus was training for marathons going to a show was completely out of the question.
