Is it just me, or do the "Well they're kind of interesting, I'd check them out if they were playing on a weekend night." shows always occur on a Mon, Tues, or Wed? Whereas the weekend is always filled with crap you don't want to see.

that's cuz most of the good shit ends up being in nyc on the weekend, and we get 'em a couple of days later.

Did they play the Noise Against Fascism show?  I couldn't remember the name, but if it was who I'm thinking (crazy mountain man wailing on sax and 16 year old drumming phenom) they were great.

ha, dikeman/verrastro is going to be pretty similar to flaherty/corsano: improvised, abstract sax/drums. corsano is 30 years old, though he looks like he's 16.
 
 the website for the red and the black should be up soon. i don't know the URL yet. i'm starting to get some interesting experimental shows there. it's roughly the size of the velvet lounge.
