I said nice, not great.

Neko Case is alright live. If you like the recorded material you will like her live. I would rather see the new pornographers though.

As for the thrills, arent I allowed to like pure shite? I do fancy seeing them. I wanted to go see them at iota. I think it could be quite a fun show.

Hmm, I have neither (obviously...).  Would love it, esp. if it gets me to the show.  But I'd like to bring you something....??

except if you are me, I just thought the live show added nothing to the experience, although she is not bad to look at

I would have to agree that Neko is better on record than live. But I haven't seen her live in a long, long time...

I was just talking to a colleague about the Raveonettes (not the non-sequiter it appears) and realized while talking to him that seeing their live show actually detracts from my appreciation of their music overall now.  I can't listen to it without picturing them singing, apparently bored out of their frickin' minds.  So now the music sounds even more boring.

I can see pollard's point.  And I am not enticed by her fine...whatever.     ;)

New Pornographers kick ass, btw.  (Like that's news here...)

well not exactly my point, seeing her live did not ruin anything for me, just didn't do anything for me that I could not get from listening to the cd

the point you are making applies to me more with the Dandy Warhols, who I have yet to listen to since their show because it was such a let down, I am sure I will come back to it eventually, the same thing happened to me with the White Stripes, did not listen to them for a year after their last 9:30 show

Actually my memory is coming back to me.... I did get a bit bored at a Neko Case show, but I just put that down to not knowing any of the songs very well. Towards the end she played a couple of covers and the couple of her songs I knew and that was pretty enjoyable.
