Video Cameras?
« on: September 25, 2003, 03:28:00 pm »
I was at a few concerts at the 930 club, and I saw some teenager that had rights to get on stage and film everything, also went into the crowd and filmed it, etc etc. I didn't know they allowed that. If they do, how much do you have to pay to film a show there?

You know the big guy with all the tattoos and piercings?

Slip him a couple of Benjies and you can do whatever you want.

Seriously? Wouldn't all the other security guards keep bugging me about why I have a Video Camera there? Or would he tell everyone that I paid him money to do that? How much does it cost?

It's kinda like prison.  He's the Alpha dog.  You take care of him and the rest fall in line.  Any of them complain, and he shivs 'em.

I filmed a Pietasters show once at the club, got the sticker that said I was allowed to tape the pietasters and one of the openers on that one night. I got to backstage and such, up in the 'green' room, but too many drunk girls, no good shots, so I filmed from the side of the stage. There was some contractual work that had to be done, essentially saying that I wasn't going to sell the footage at all. All I've done was give the footage to the band and to dcska.com who got me the gig to film the set. It was a decent experience.

Its up to the artists. its up to the artists.
 its up to the artists.

If the pietasters want jimmy-crack-corn on stage filming them, or if Jewel doesnt want one camera in the whole building, or anything in between, we will make that happen.

if you want to videotape a show, you must contact the artist's management ahead of time.

the shiving got too messy and the trash company started asking too many questions about what was in the dumpsters, so we decided to do it the "official" way.  keeps my hands clean, if you know what i mean.

not moping yet, saco.  only been a couple of days.  check back in a couple of weeks.  btw, have i thanked you lately?  ;)
