I agree with most on the list, except they forgot to include the Foo Fighters. They should have been number 1.

The Strokes is a really lazy pick.  Room on Fire is and was great.

Is Guns and Roses and Stone Roses too obvious?

Yeah, it's a pretty weak list.

-They throw in The Modern Lovers and admit it isn't their debut album. Alanis Morissette's 'Jagged Little Pill' should be on there in this case.

-It's kinda hard to go too far beyond your debut album when you're dead after making one or two (Biggie)... with that logic where's Joy Division, Blind Melon, Jeff Buckley?

-Plus there's TONS of Rap acts that peaked on their debut. Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Digital Underground, De La Soul, etc

-They focus on 'hipster' rock and then lump in mainstream rap? 'Adult Alternative' should feel left out. Where's Men at Work, Soft Cell, Jewel, Lisa Loeb, Gin Blossoms, Candlebox, etc.

You're right.  "Room on Fire" IS great.

Where's Oasis?  Despire the lighters aloft choons of "Wonderwall", "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Champagne Supernova" you can't tell me "Morning Glory" is better than "Definitely Maybe."  They peaked with their first one.

Plus, the Supergrass argument is weak.  Saying their first album was best because it was young and exciting is like saying "Pablo Honey" is Radiohead's best because it has "Creep" on it.  Both bands got a LOT better.

I definitely think the Blue album is good, but I'd say anyone that prefers that to Pinkerton (or anything after) is crazy.

Love the first two, but everything afterwards is unlistenable.  I just saw that their new single is "pork and beans" or something insanely stupid like that.

 sad.

I thought Weezer's Green album was sweet.  A feel good hit of the summer of 01.

Going to have to politely disagree with you there. I think their second album was far and away their best material and definitely included their biggest hits.

Using singer Zack De La Rocha's hardcore militancy to take the macho swagger and frat-boy idiocy out of funk-metal...
That's funny, because Rage Against The Machine is easily the most frat-boy idiotic musical group in history. I'll take the Chili Peppers non-sensical rambles over RATM's indefensibly idiotic, psuedo-violent "politics."

No one with an IQ over 54 can call for the release of Mumia Abu Jamal or 98% of the other things they sing about. Commerce dressed up as rebellion.

Agreed.

I also think "Battle of Los Angeles" is the best Rage Against the Machine album.
