My pleasure indeed Bearman...

I loved the show, though I could have stood for 2 or 3 songs....I really did think it was great.  Just Lou being Lou.  And Rhett, he's not that buff, quite skinny actually.  He stays in shape with tai-chi.

We'd have photos up already but they all have to be personally approved by Lou's management - hopefully later today.

Looking forward to catching him in Richmond.

Excellent review of the 9:30 show by Chris Klimak in the Post (although its hard to judge since I wasn't there).

...and none were approved.  and the NPR stream was cancelled as well.

 i still posted a review:
  http://www.brightestyoungthings.com/live-dc/live-dc-lou-reed-with-rusted-root-930-club/

which was written specifically to have 9:30 club board members bash it (jk, but not really)

It looks like no photos from any pros were approved, which would explain why the Post has a picture from 2005.  I think it was because the shiny/rubber shirt he was wearing wasn't flattering.

Wait...

How'd you know he would play 12 songs? Did it actually say so in the set times thing on the 930 site the day of (I was out of town so I missed it)? Very bizarre if so.

Just got back from the Richmond show. Had some reservations going in as to whether this was worth the money or whether this was one of those "going to be able to say I saw them, even though they're way past their prime" shows, and it certainly exceeded all expectations. Still very talented.

Our setlist differed a bit from the 930 setlist. From the best I can piece together...

 Mad
 Sweet Jane
 I'm Set Free
 Ecstacy
 I'm Sticking With You
 The Power Of The Heart
 Satellite Of Love
 Walk On The Wild Side
 Halloween Parade
 Video Violence
 Guardian Angel
 Magic And Loss
 -----
 Pale Blue Eyes

Satellite Of Love, Ecstacy, and Pale Blue Eyes were all highlights. Magic And Loss and Walk On The Wild Side were excellent too. The new song was pretty too.
