That's how U2 used to do it before they created the biggest pre-sale "scandal in the history of music" for this years tour.
They used to send Propaganda (fan club)subscribers a packet which you could rank venues and sections and give them credit card information. About 3 weeks before the show, tickets showed up in the mail. I had my first choice of venue and section for every tour starting back with the Joshua Tree tour - without fail.
The difference is that Propoganda used to cost money and this Coldplay stuff is free (sure to be overloaded and create a mess). Hopefully, they will allocate tickets by how long you've been a member of "In My Place" which should guarantee me tickets for the Mrs., otherwise, I could be in trouble.
