 this is really hitting a bit close to home for me.  damage plan played the club very recently, and i was in the barricade directly in front of darrell.  if this had happened at the club, the guy would've had to go through me to get to the stage.  not a pleasant thought.

Honestly, one of the best metal shows that I have seen was Pantera 10 years ago.  Though it is not my music of choice, they delivered a tight, tight set!  RIP.

Vinnie did not die. He got shot in the leg. The head of Damage Plan's security Meyham was the "bouncer" mentioned in the news stories that tackled the gunman and was also killed.  The killer was all of 10 years old when Pantera's "Cowboys From Hell" was released....wtf does he have to be all pissed off about? That would be like me hunting down Jimmy Page and killing him over Zeppelin breaking up!
 
 I honestly don't think the venue really did much for security purposes. Not saying they had to do the Nation body cavity search to enter the club, but come on have security blocking off access to the stage!
 
 Dimebag was a guitar legend and will be missed!
