Metric video
« on: February 09, 2004, 03:39:00 pm »
A friend emailed this to me, and now it's playing a Brian Jonestown Massacre video...  ???  Very cool.  [Note, there are commercials, looks to be every two videos.]

  Launch Video here...

PS, I'm defnitely in for that show Saturday.  Is there a particular South album I might buy?

everyone else gets to be the gatekeeper with regards to bands why shouldn't i   :p   with that said i found the one south cd i heard to be pretty uninteresting, and i was sure based on what i heard about it i would have liked it.  to my ears it was a really watered down version of the stone roses, which of course will have all the south fans jumping up and down telling me i'm wrong about.  that south rocks their world harder and more than the darkness and i'm full of gilmore girls stuff.

Well, I don't know a thing about South except that they're playing with Metric (I know so little that I assumed they were opening for Metric, and it's the reverse).  I always appreciate your opinion, KV.

Speaking of, the URGE Overkill show in NYC was fantastic.  Alas, I only caught the last half of the Shazam's last song -- it's my curse when I go to NY for a Friday show.  But, the band was downstairs later and I said hey, come to DC, etc.  They were not very friendly, but I didn't mind much -- they were surrounded by five hot new york bowery ballroom-type chicks and it looked like some fun times were ahead.  [No plans for DC anytime soon.]

I love "Godspeed the Shazam," though.  And I bought "Tomorrow the World."  It was $15, but I figure they get a bigger cut when you buy a CD at the show.  I *hope* that's the case!

Pick up "From Here on In" It was produced by James Lavelle and has that "Unkle"-type feel, pretty unique in my opinion.  It really picks up steam after the 10th song through to the end.

I wasn't as impressed with their new album which is what they are promoting on this tour.

FYI, South's website has streaming video -- you can hear a lot of their songs, both newer and old.

Don't click on album tracks (that gives you 10-second blurbs and the lyrics), but simply use the 'player' up in the right corner of the page.
