I'm quite surprised the AM are holding up as well as they are under all this pressure.  I actually applaud their lack of an encore... for bands that have a single album to their name, encores are a bit dumb.  Just go out there, play your stuff, try your best to impress, and make your statement in one go.  Rock star wankery like encores are more suited for when you are further down the road as a band.  Can't comment on their show too much, as my friend nearly passed out between WAS and AM, forcing us to retreat to the very back of the venue for fresh (sort of) air and water.  WAS however were quite entertaining.  I'd actually say their music is  less varied than AM.

The Monkeys play a great show, but they don't do many encores they just do a set list.  They played there record in entirity exept riot van the first show at 930.  I saw them at Sonar and they definitely rocked out, not sure why people thought it was lame at times because they brought out some two older songs and one of their new ep.  We Are Scientest were funny but Monkeys naturally rocked that night.  I must concure with those that say their music isnt the best after the hype died down but they are still a good band.  And they do know how to rock a show!

I've seen WAS twice in the past 9 months and already have a ticket to their upcoming Black Cat show, and I couldn't disagree more. While I'd be willing to agree that their songwriting could use some improvement, which I hope will come with experience, I think they are spectacular live, really one of the best bands around right now as far as live shows go. Editors would be tops (I fully agree with Big KC's description), but We Are Scientists have to be on the short list.

I'm so excited to see them at Black Cat, I missed them there last time and have always made the trek up to Baltimore to catch their show.  Here's to hoping no all-girl moshpits break out.  A couple of the girls standing near me freaked out over Keith and were literally fighting each other to get to the front.

i saw this show at the norva, and the arctic monkeys didn't impress me at all - i couldn't understand a damn word they were singing, and every song ran together.

we are scientists, hoewver, were fantastic.  awkward inbetween songs, but fantastic.
