Dungen

Enjoyed the show last night, my first time to see them.  Very versatile group.  The lead guy looked equally comfortable upfront, on the flute, and on the keyboards.  Some very poppy upbeat tunes thrown right in with some longer pink floyd-like arrangements, then they'd switch gears and sound more like a jazz trio.  Another song sounded just like Peter Frampton.  Good backup vocals.

The Nethers had their moments, but overall it wasn't dynamic enough for me.  The rhythm section had this plodding sound to it that I thought dragged them down.  The last couple of songs were tighter and they finished strong.

I actually preferred Nethers set to Dungen's.  Nethers second to last song when Dungen joined was, for me at least, the highlight of the show.
