Terminal 5
« on: August 14, 2007, 04:04:00 pm »
Well for a lot of you this wont be too relevant - but it's probably good to know about anyway.

The Bowery Presents To Open New Venue
 by staff | 08.14.2007

Live music will prevail, in New York at least.  The Bowery Presents, a New York based independent concert-promotion company have announced plans to open, Terminal 5, a new venue in early October.  Terminal 5, will be the largest midtown venue to open in more than 10 years and will be able to house 3,000 guests for various midtown music and art events.

The Bowery Presents currently manages and operates The Bowery Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge and the upcoming Music Hall of Williamsburg, which is set to debut on September 4th.  The inaugural season for Terminal 5 will showcase an impressive list of current hitmakers.  What better way to baptize the stage than with the sweat of some of the best names in music.

 Terminal 5 Upcoming Shows:

 October
 11 The National
 19 M.I.A
 20 Justice
 23-24 The Shins with Vetiver

 November:
 1-2 The Decemberists

found this - also its located on w 56th b/w 11th & 12th. i couldnt be happier. a short walk from my apt and ill be there.

Architect Brian Swier designed the multi-million dollar renovation of Terminal 5, creating a clean, open layout for the 40,000-square-foot multilevel venue. A main floor with the performance space will feature 40' ceilings, unobstructed sightlines, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and a first and second wrap-around mezzanine will provide excellent views to the stage from all areas of the venue. Three bars - one on each level - will provide easy access to refreshments.
