thanks for all of the suggestions.  Don't forget to include the title of the songs that you're providing lyrics for.
 
 So far, H2O's F.T.T.W. is the best album that I have found!

Don't forget, the most important thing is to get something that you think he'd really like. That's what he'll end up listening to. No matter how poignant or well-meaning the songs are, it won't mean a whole lot if he never bothers to give them more than the initial listen.
 
 What kind of music does he tend to like?

 but dont get any of her cds after 98 cos they are shite
 chantal kreviazuk-colour moving and still, contains souls one of my fav tracks ever,the cd covers love,depression and erm death.
 and what about:
 the bee gees-their greatest hits the record.

Lemon Jelly has some great tracks that are very happy and for the most part lyric free.  http://www.lemonjelly.ky/ is their homepage.  Their album Lost Horizons has some great happy music tracks.
