nothing is more comfortable for walking on concrete than tennis shoes i dont care how much money you spend on your shoes.

i can see wearing dress shoes if you drive to the train/bus and get off right at your job, but if you have to walk for 10-20 minutes you really should wear proper walking shoes. i wear heels at work but i'm not trotting to the train in them. concrete is the worst thing for heels and my feet.

you guys are just proving the point.

that people no longer care about looking nice, as long as they are comfortable.

And to some, thats irritating.  its not the end of the world.  I happen to pick style over comfort most of the time too.

uhhh...genius, flats can be dress shoes too, and are just as comfortable as sneaks.

but if she wore flats at work then she'd be sacrificing fashion for comfort all day instead of just the commute

I suit up every day to work, and I take public transportation with a 4-5 block walk.  The walk across campus and back is easily a half mile and I make it 2-3 times a day.

I never wear sneakers with my suit, and I sometimes, on a gorgeous day, will walk the hilly 3 miles home in my dress shoes.

Choose your dress shoes wisely and sack up.

how does that justify wearing sneakers with a suit?

i didnt say it did, i just said that the flats were the same issue

if i know one thing for sure, caring what people wear on the metro is likely to make you crazy. actually, id be a little unbalanced if i had to wear a suit every day so maybe this is crazy angered at crazy. i take it all back

Obviously I live by the fashion over function mantra.

what exactly is an "official" after-party?  why does it need to be designated as such?

'Official' simply means the label or band or something like that is involved, as opposed to me and DJ Will Eastman just going  'hey come party here after the show'.  So we'll have stuff to give away that the label is providing, and the plan is for someone from Cut Copy to DJ at some point.  Black Kids may also DJ or at least hang out.  Still waiting on all the details tho, we may also have free booze.
