Mix CDs Anyone?
« on: December 19, 2007, 12:30:00 pm »
It's Mix CD Show and Tell Time...

My submission is the one just created for my 10 year nephew, who last year told me empathetically his favorite song was Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams.  He also likes to rock out in Guitar Hero to "Rock and Roll All Night" and "School's Out".  So with that in mind here's a selection of songs with catchy choruses and distorted guitars!

Supergrass - Pumping On Your Stereo
Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio
Generation X - Ready, Steady, Go
 Go-Gos- We Got The Beat
 Ming Tea - BBC
Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Saturday Night
Romantics - What I Like About You
Jimmy Eat World - The Authority Song
 Proclaimers - I'm Gonna
 R.E.M. - Stand
 John Mellencamp - R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.
Splitsville - The Kids Who Kill For Sugar
 Weezer - Buddy Holly
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
 Rancid - Time Bomb
Adam and Ants - Dog Eat Dog
Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up
Rico and the Special A.K.A. - Jungle Music
The Jam - Town Called Malice
 Robyn Hitchcock - Balloon Man
Was (Not Was) - Walk The Dinosaur
 George Clinton - Atomic Dog
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - Parents Just Don't Understand
 Kiss - Detroit Rock City
 Alice Cooper - School's Out

Why don't you guys Zip the MP3s and upload them to Megaupload.com so we can listen to them?  xneverwherex did this a few days ago and I've been really enjoying it.

I'd much rather hear a mix than read about it.

If I had a legal and really good way to share my playlist, etc, I would.  Yes I'm being overly cautious, just don't want to get shook down...  Until the ability to share playlist when tits up on Lala, that had been the best option I've seen.

My sister wanted the ultimate in 80's pop and Italo disco that we used to hear across the pond, so I put together this thumpin' little mix as a Christmas stocking stuffer:

Color My Love -- Fun Fun
The Look of Love -- ABC
Penthouse and Pavement -- Heaven 17
Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonight -- Lime
 Turbo Diesel -- Albert One
Vamos a la Playa -- Righeira
People from Ibiza -- Sandy Marton
Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money) -- Pet Shop Boys
 Talk Talk -- Talk Talk
 Tenderness -- General Public
World Destruction -- Time Zone featuring John Lydon & Afrika Bambaataa
 Situation -- Yaz
 Duel -- Propaganda
Tesla Girls -- Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark
 Blue Monday -- New Order
My Heart Goes Bang -- Dead or Alive
Clouds Across the Moon -- The RAH Band

glad you enjoyed it  :)  a bunch of other friends are working on theirs and id be glad to share them all. im afraid that so far we all have at least one LCD soundsystem song - which is pretty impressive since we all have very different taste. and everyone seems to love D.A.N.C.E.  :)
